Deviant Art, first art ressource

Deviant art is the best art website out there and has been for a while now. The site features loads of different form of art, from photography, sculpture to drawings, concept art and comics.

Most of the stuff there is more or less freely down loadable and as long as you do try to get the credit for yourself I think you shouldn’t have any problem. Of course don’t resell what you get from there, everything is protected under copyrights.

You will need to register to be able to make the most of the site functionalities. They also organise events every year where deviant artist meet each other and show their work.

Pirates, in the steam punk wave

Pirates have been around for long now. Always carrying great legends and stories about treasure, sea monsters and epic battles. The theme is a great source of inspiration. The mix of canon powder, gold, blades, dirty men and hot chicks can only bring good stuff.

Add the sea, which you can picture in a calm caribbean style or in a furious tempest of element and you are on some good artwork.The steam punk style is very popular at the moment and Pirates are often painted in the same grungy style. Hidden art, 404 pages

A 404 page is what you get from a website when you try to look at t page that does not exist on the address you’ve typed on. You don’t see those very often, which is a good thing because it means the sites work, but some people still take great care of their 404 page and give it a little personal touch.

I’ve done a quick list of some of the best 404 pages I have seen so far, some are hilarious, some just plain creative. If you’ve came across a good one that’s not listed here, and I am sure there is plenty, feel free to share it in the comment section at the end of the post.

Graffitis emerged from the HipHop culture and started around the 70′s. Declined in many different ways accross the world, they all express a raw form of art linked to the street and underground places. Now very polpuar even in advertising graffitis are often used as a way to comunicate a young image.
